Championing the future of fintech at Ibiza Tech Forum 2025
The Clovr Labs and ElenPAY teams just returned from the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025, and we’re still riding the wave of energy, inspiration, and connections made over three intense days of innovation and collaboration.
This year, Clovr Labs proudly participated as an official sponsor, supporting a world-class event that’s not only putting Spain at the center of the global tech scene but also attracting a diverse international community of tech leaders, investors, startups, and institutions.
For both our teams, the experience was a huge success. We came back with valuable feedback, new partnerships in the making, and a renewed sense of purpose around the work we do in cybersecurity and fintech innovation.
About Ibiza Tech Forum 2025
Set against the Mediterranean backdrop of Ibiza, the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 has quickly established itself as one of Europe’s must-attend events for innovation, technology, and business. With over 120 international speakers and a rich agenda spanning blockchain, AI, cybersecurity, digital finance, smart tourism, sports tech, quantum computing, and sustainability, the forum offered a 360º view of how emerging technologies are reshaping industries and society.
This year’s edition brought together a powerful mix of global players, from Stripe, Mastercard, Meta, BlackRock, and AWS, to key institutions like the United Nations, Telefónica, and government representatives. It created the ideal environment for startups, corporates, investors, and public sector leaders to exchange ideas, validate disruptive projects, and spark meaningful collaborations.
As cybersecurity and fintech specialists, we found the event’s blend of tech insight and strategic networking especially valuable. The conversations around regulatory evolution, financial inclusion, and digital transformation are central to the work we do at Clovr Labs, and it was powerful to see these themes being tackled from such diverse industry angles.
A full house for Clovr's Treasury Protection Workshop
One of the most energizing moments for our team was leading the workshop “Treasury Protection in the Digital Landscape”, a session designed to address one of the most pressing gaps in business finance today: the lack of robust cybersecurity foundations in traditional banking platforms.
Brilliantly led by Carme Refusa and Ferran Lemus from our Business Development team, and Marina Villalonga, Partner at Asensi Abogados, the session was at full capacity and sparked meaningful discussions among fintech leaders, startup founders, and security-conscious operators.
We covered three core areas:
- The Current Cybersecurity Landscape in B2B Banking, where we broke down the most common vulnerabilities faced by modern businesses, from compromised credentials to unchecked internal access.
- The Limitations of Traditional Banking Solutions, especially their inability to offer granular control, real-time monitoring, or proactive defenses tailored for today’s dynamic business environments.
- Concrete Recommendations for Risk Mitigation, including practical approaches to securing wallets, managing role-based access, and implementing frictionless controls that support both agility and safety.
We were thrilled to see the room packed with participants, and it served as a validation exercise for Clovault, our new neobank initiative. The feedback we received from industry leaders and business owners was overwhelmingly positive, confirming what we’ve long observed: today’s digital businesses are looking for more than just convenience from their banking platforms; they need platforms that prioritize security as much as usability.
It was clear from the engagement and discussion that there’s an urgent demand for platforms that don’t treat security as an add-on, but as a core feature, and Clovault is being shaped precisely with that mindset.
Key conversations that moved the industry forward
Beyond workshops and networking, the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 offered a series of high-level panels that tackled some of the biggest questions shaping the future of finance, regulation, and innovation. Several roundtables stood out, both for the relevance of their themes and the quality of insights shared by industry leaders.
Transforming Global Payments – Redefining the Way the World Pays
One of the most impactful sessions of the event, this panel brought together voices from Mastercard, Stripe, and our very own Josep León, General Manager at ElenPAY. The discussion centered around how the global payments landscape is shifting due to regulatory pressure, rising user expectations, and the urgent need for sector-wide collaboration.
From our perspective, this dialogue is essential, as fintech and traditional infrastructure providers converge, security, interoperability, and trust must be baked into the payment ecosystem.
Digital Banking Revolution – The Rise of Mobile Banking and ETF Investing
This panel explored how mobile platforms are reshaping financial access and democratizing investment tools like ETFs. Speakers discussed embedded investing features, crypto integration, and the changing expectations of digital-native consumers.
At Clovr Labs, we see this shift as part of a broader trend: financial platforms are becoming full-stack financial experiences. And with that transformation comes new exposure points. Cybersecurity must evolve just as fast as the digital offerings themselves.
Digital Governance Framework – Balancing Innovation and Regulation
Innovation can’t scale without trust, and this panel addressed the ongoing challenge of balancing rapid technological advancement with emerging European regulations, from AI governance to data sovereignty.
From a cybersecurity lens, we believe that governance frameworks need to align with real-world risks, particularly as AI and fintech intersect. Talks like these play a crucial role in closing the gap between regulators and innovators, ensuring that progress doesn’t outpace protection.
Innovation by day, true connections by night
While the Ibiza Tech Forum 2025 delivered serious insight and industry impact during the day, the evenings reminded us why relationship-building is just as vital as technical innovation.
The Binance Exclusive Rooftop Experience on day one set the tone with a high-energy, beautifully curated gathering at the Hard Rock Hotel’s rooftop terrace. Tech and crypto professionals mingled over sushi, cocktails, and a stunning Mediterranean sunset. The evening created the perfect atmosphere for spontaneous conversations, potential partnerships, and shared laughs that often don’t happen in the fast-paced rhythm of conference schedules and back-to-back panels.
The following night, the Exclusive Gala Dinner overlooking the Ibiza marina brought together a select group of attendees for deeper conversations around blockchain adoption, investment trends, and cross-sector collaboration. Strategic conversations turned into future plans, and business cards were exchanged over great food and shared vision.
And of course, no Ibiza experience would be complete without a proper celebration. The closing party at one of the island’s iconic night venues gave us all a chance to unwind, reflect, and toast to a week of innovation, connection, and momentum.
